About the work

Why is the work being done?

To ensure business continuity and system stabilisation, legacy IT applications must be retired and migrated to centralised business systems by 23 December 2018.

What's the key problem you need to solve?

Legacy IT applications are at end of life and not compatible with Cloud security requirements and therefore need to be decommissioned and migrated to the centralised business systems.

Describe the users and their needs

The APVMA needs a project manager to develop the project documentation, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of the project. Ensure realistic project plans are maintained and regular and accurate communication to stakeholders, consistent with the methods in use (agile,waterfall etc.). Manage change control procedure and ensure that the project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets and are signed-off. Provide leadership to the project team and take appropriate action to identify and manage risks and issues.

The APVMA also needs a business analyst that will investigate, validate and justify business operational impacts and requirements to support transition to centralised business system. Work with business stakeholders and IMT team to develop solution designs and support implementation of requirements. Apply the use of modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards, giving special consideration to business perspectives.

What work has already been done?

Initial discovery work has commenced. A first round of joint workshops have been held with IMT and business owners to identify high level requirements and implications as well as to socialize the purpose of the project. IMT have commenced work to prepare legacy systems for decommissioning. IMT have scoped the workpackage and have identified the work breakdown structure. A draft project plan has been prepared.

Who will the work be done with?

This project will largely be conducted within APVMA but will be engaging a vendor to provide QlikSense configuration and data modelling.

On site, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. Ad-hoc additional hours undertaken will require mutual agreement.
