About the work

Why is the work being done?

The Australian Defence College currently manages a Moodle Based Learning Management System called ADELE. This is a major online learning portal for Department of Defence personnel. Defence requires a 90 second promotional video to promote ADELE (its purpose, usability, scope and benefits to Defence).

The Australian Defence College is also developing and online professional education portal website called THE FORGE. Defence requires a 60 second promotional video to promote the purpose, usability, scope and benefits to Defence for this portal.

Both videos will be required NLT 30 Oct 18. Defence will provide draft storyboards to shortlisted vendor to assist in quotation

What's the key problem you need to solve?

THE FORGE: Australian Defence Force members need to be made aware of the impending launch of The Forge and understand its role in joint professional military education and the extent of its reach and inclusiveness. The Forge will be launched by the Commander Australian Defence College in mid November 18.

The ADELE Learning Management System requires a professional promotional video as part of an ongoing communications strategy to increase uptake in the use of the platform.

Describe the users and their needs

The Forge: As a member of the Profession of Arms or the national security community, I need to continually update my knowledge. By building and honing my intellectual abilities I contribute to the continued growth of capability of myself and my team. This is particularly the case as the missions which Defence personnel and others are called on to perform are increasingly changing, complex, multi-agency and involving rapidly developing technology and threats. Users need to be better armed with current information to contribute to missions of the ADF. The Forge will host materials and serve as a reference point, thereby being a tool available for all to use in courses and in self-directed and unit-level joint professional military education and training.

ADELE Learning Management System: The ADO and partner agencies can be informed of Defence's Enterprise Learning Management System and its capacity

What work has already been done?

The FORGE: We have a draft story board outlining what should be included in the video.

ADELE: we have created an in-house 90 second promotional video that we would like to have revised to a professional standard for external publication

Who will the work be done with?

The work will be done with personnel from the Australian Defence College at Weston in Canberra. There may be a requirement to have interaction with the agency currently building The Forge Website, though this will be done at the Australian Defence College if required

Any additional relevant information?

The Forge: scoping the availability of a videographer/content development to provide visuals and or advice on what is needed to be provided for the outcome. The current, approved web-site design, along with music, should feature in the promo video. External actors unlikely to be required as production can use personnel at the Australian Defence College
