Who will the specialist work with? The role currently resides in the departments Information Management and Technology Division, in the Business Applications Branch. -
What will the specialist do? DFAT Requires the services of a Project Manager with proven record of accomplishment and experience in delivering ICT software projects and managing defined projects or work streams to deliver outputs and products in accordance with budget and quality standards which contribute to the delivery of ICT solutions across the Department. -

Where will the work take place? Canberra City -
What are the working arrangements? Business hours are 7am to 7pm on business days, unless specified otherwise. Maximum work effort is 40 hours per week unless given prior approval by the business area Branch Head. Compulsory reduced activity period is 25th December 2018 to 1st January 2019. -
Is security clearance required? NV1 or NV2

Essential skills and experience -
- Demonstrated experience in planning, managing and executing ICT software development projects using the agile system development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated understanding and accreditation in Prince2 and other project management methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong client relationships and translate business requirements to technology solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver business solutions within agreed time, cost, and quality expectations.
- Ability to adhere to agreed standards and better practice frameworks for system development lifecycle management, architecture and design, project management, and change management.
- Demonstrated experience in managing project finances within the Australian Public Service.
- Demonstrated experience and skills with engaging and managing multiple ICT vendors, including approach to markets, evaluation, and delivery management.

Nice-to-have skills and experience -
- Experience working with groups and in workshop environments to produce high quality outcomes.
- Experience with multiple of the following: Unified Modelling Language (UML); Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN); Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) for requirements documentation and business review and Visio.
