About the work

Why is the work being done?

ASIC is seeking for Puppet services, licensing and training required in support of the ALM/DevOps project and the implementation of a hybrid cloud, Platform as a Service (PaaS) framework and operating model.

ASIC is looking forward to engage Puppet to provision Professional Services for the first stage of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) platform rollout for a hybrid cloud solution, focusing on the design, build and implementation of a PaaS framework and application, providing a way to automatically provision end to end ASIC IT environments and platforms through the implementation and workflows integration of VRA blueprints, Puppet manifests and TFS/Octopus deployment pipelines and packages. These environments must be provisioned indistinctively on top of on-prem VMWare infrastructure, or external public environments such as AWS, to be defined by ASIC.

Goal

Engage Puppet to support the full implementation of the new solution, from the conceptual level, through architecture design to implementation of a deployment process for Puppet agents for specific SOEs on existing Customer practice and policy where applicable. Also, it will be required to work with ASIC and VMware SMEs to integrate the implementation of Puppet Enterprise, as well as deliver an Amazon Web Services (AWS) workload instantiation and configuration capability

The Service Provider must deliver the following:

A. 11 weeks of PSU's (Professional Services Units) to:

1. Support the creation of the Detailed Solution Design of Puppet platform;

2. Support the implementation of the Detailed Solution Design described above, including:

· Distribution of Puppet agents across ASIC infrastructure, ensuring integration and adherence to ASIC IT Security policies and governance standards;

· Integration with VMWare/VRA and ASIC Virtualisation platform;

· Integration with existing DevOps Build, Deploy and Test processes (TFS/Octopus);

3. Support the development of required scripts to allow end to end automation.

B. 1 Private Onsite Training (ASIC premises) to:

1. Engage IT resources in the newly adopted tool;

2. Upskills key resources working on the Phase 1 Implementation

C. Puppet Enterprise

1. Annual Subscription License

2. Includes 1 Year Support & Maintenance

3. Standard Support (8x5 Monday to Friday)
