Why is the work being done? The Buyer is looking to identify Sellers with the technical capability to convert unstructured textual data, such as those residing in a PDF files, into a structured data source to support ongoing developments in machine learning. -
What's the key problem you need to solve? Identification of entities, relationships and connections available within and across PDF files to support the development of machine learning tools. -
Describe the users and their needs Data analysts and data scientists require structured data to support the development of machine learning algorithms. Useful data has been identified within a large set of PDF files; however it is in an unstructured format. There is a requirement to convert this data into a structured format to facilitate the training of machine learning models. -
What work has already been done? IP Australia is currently in the discovery phase of exploring capabilities associated with identifying entities, relationships and connections in unstructured data -

normally limited to Australian Citizens only. This role has been deemed Entry Only Level (no
Australian Government Security Clearance is required).

- Experience in data preparation, cleansing and analysis for the application of machine learning technologies
- Experience in the use of natural language processing or other techniques to identify entities, relationships and connections within unstructured textual data such as PDF files (demonstrated via case studies).
