About the work

Why is the work being done? The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) wants to explore and test the process of moving external facing PDF forms to an eSignature software solution using a small sample of documents. The results of this test will be shared with Australian Government agencies with the aim of reducing barriers to uptake and providing transition advice that makes it simple, clear and fast to do so.
We’re looking for a vendor that provides eSignature software to work with us and other Australian Government agencies to trial the process of moving away from PDF forms.

What's the key problem you need to solve? Australian Government agencies face a number of barriers to implementing eSignature software to replace PDF forms. Agencies do not have a practical understanding of how to move to eSignature software. By testing the process first, the DTA can provide clear advice to remove barriers and help agencies with the transition. -
Describe the users and their needs There are three types of users that the DTA will be assessing through this proof of concept work: 1. The end user of the current PDF form – the person who currently has to download and fill in the form
2. The government agency transformation team – the staff members who are responsible for digital transformation within the agency
3. The government agency form processing team – the staff members who will be impacted directly by the change to eSignature software.

What work has already been done? Many government agencies already use eSignature solutions. The DTA will be talking to those agencies as part of this work. -
Who will the work be done with? The successful vendor will be required to work closely with the DTA and other government agencies involved in this work. -

Where will the work take place? The Digital Transformation Agency - 50 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra and at relevant government agencies when required. -
What are the working arrangements? Vendor may be required to meet with the DTA and government agencies, however this can be done via video call if required. All other work can be done at the vendor’s workplace. -
Is security clearance required? Security clearance not required for this phase of the project.
